Photography is a fantastically creative medium. Like the longer established medium of paint, styles and interpretation of subjects is only limited by our own imaginations.
With the images on this website I am trying to explore these limits.
My love for the medium of photography pre-dates the digital era. I have my own darkroom for printing both Black+White and Colour (from slides). When printing photographs you not only have the opportunity of being creative during the taking of the photograph, but also the ability to 'tweek' the image during printing. In the darkroom I created a variety of original styles, some of which appear on this website.
Digital photography opens up infinitely more possibilities for post-image collection manipulation, and that excites me. These manipulations may use Photoshop filters. But also I photomomtage images together, either related or unrelated images.
My preferred subjects are nature and landscape, looking for that 'new' angle, or looking to enhance its inherent beauty, or trying to depict movement or behaviour, especially in birds. Some of these are available as Limited Edition Prints. Some are Black and White photographic prints and others are digital prints. Both are made to Archival quality and are available as Mounted or Framed Prints.
